The Visit!

Hi!

As you have seen, the winner for the weekly reading was "The Visit." We have already read it, so it should be easier to understand to you. The second one was "The Godfather", so that would be the next one. Remember: It's for this TUESDSAY and also don't forget about the exam on Thursday.

Regards,

JCA

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR THIS TERM

This information is very important, for all of us.

1- Attendance is mandatory according to these criteria. You should come to--at least--75% of the classes to be able to pass with the "minimum passing mark" (4.0). If not, you need to obtain a 5.5 to pass, with resit exam or without it. These are the new regulations of the programme for ALL students.

2- It is necessary that you write down, very carefully, the instructions of assignments that I give to you in class. If you don't follow instructions given, there will be discounts in your mark.

3- All assignments must have: Date, title, and author's name. They also must come double spaced.

4- Assignments without author's name, or they are sent by email (unless told so) shall not be graded.

5- Never leave assignments with the secretaries. They already have enough to do, and that gives them additional responsibilities. Turn your assignment in, as told in class.

6- It's highly recommendable that you type your assignments. That way you can keep a copy of them, and it can be checked more easily. If you can't type it--for any reasons--hand write it, but make sure it is neat and readable (incomprehensible phrases or words will be considered as "grammar mistakes").

7- Be aware that there are levels of mistakes. We have the very serious elementary mistakes (usually mistakes related to number agreement and or use of auxiliaries, letter S in third person singular), punctuation mistakes (any), common mistakes (all other mistakes) and typos (missing or extra letters, or similar irregularity.). An elementary mistake will have double reduction of points.

Welcome

Hi all,

here we are, once again, to give the best of ourselves and learn from eachother. As this is the first posts, I'd like to wish you success in this new term. I hope you all can make it!

Kind Regards,

Your teacher.
